While her ads in The Breeze may not be as noticable as the personals placed by agoodguy4you, Harrisonburg’s resident psychic Monica is here, waiting to give you a reading. Located on 2750 South Main Street, Monica specializes in "Tarot Cards, Psychic Palm and Angel Readings."

I had never noticed her ads, but I did notice her place of business when I was driving back and forth from Tropical Tans. I was intrigued by the sign featuring a giant hand, and decided that my personal and professional life could use some spiritual advising.

I met with Monica twice. The first visit was an initial consulation so she could figure out exactly what my intentions were and why I wanted to write about her. I showed her a copy of Turf and explained that my reasons for wanting a reading were twofold.

I wanted a personal reading for my own edification, and I also wanted to know the future of our little publication. We met later that night, at 9:30. Her hours are very flexible, making her accessible to even the busiest student.

I was nervous as I drove down South Main Street. This was my first encounter with a psychic and I was apprehensive about having this woman probe into my most personal areas. But when I arrived, Monica put me right at ease. She was soft-spoken and calm, and her small office, just off her home, was private and quiet. We started with a palm reading. I was pleased with what my palms revealed. Sorry to disappoint some of you, but I am going to have a long, prosperous life.

The second part of the visit was a tarot card reading. It was a little different than how they appear on television. I was able to shuffle my own cards and choose the nine cards that would reveal my fate. The cards, when overturned, looked ominous. Monica told me that the man I have in my heart is not my soul mate (yeah, you know who you are!). Again, I was pleased with the accuracy and predictions of my reading, and very impressed with Monica’s insight.

Will Turf be a success?

The psychic prediction is that it will.
